Koppa Counseling


Dr. Rachel Koppa is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Texas that currently practices in Dallas. She holds a doctorate degree in Family Therapy from Texas Woman's University. She provides individual, couple, and family therapy to pre-adolescents, adolescents and adults. Dr. Koppa not only provides psychotherapy for a range of difficulties (anxiety, grief/loss, addiction, relationship struggles), she specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and body image, struggles in the childbearing cycle, depression and self-harm. Dr. Koppa worked in the Center for Pediatric Eating Disorders for 4 years at Children's Medical Center of Dallas, working with inpatient, intensive outpatient and outpatient clients and families. She also worked for over 2 years in the Inpatient Psychiatry unit focusing on mood and behavior issues. Dr. Koppa has worked in the past with outpatient substance abuse, domestic violence and families struggling in transitions.


Currently, Dr. Koppa is a community volunteer for the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center and Junior League of Dallas. She has previously volunteered with Parkland Memorial Hospital, Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, and MEND (mothers enduring neonatal death). She strives to give back to the community with both her time and by giving presentations in the community on topics such as domestic violence, depression, eating disorders and body image, and managing anxiety.

Dr. Rachel Koppa earned her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where her focus was Women's Studies. She then earned her Masters of Arts from Dallas Theological Seminary in Counseling. Dr. Koppa completed her Ph.D. in Family Therapy from Texas Woman's University.
